A woman in a wheelchair will complete the inspiring challenge of completing 50 marathons in 50 states in the United States.
Andrea Lytle Peet’s goal is to be the first ALS patient to complete a marathon in all 50 states.
She enjoyed marathons as a hobby before she was diagnosed with ALS in 2014 at the age of 33.
She set the goal of doing the final race, but after crossing the finish line on her bike she felt strong enough to do more.
Now her journey is helping other people suffering from ALS. On her website, the Team Drea Foundation, she shares her stories and raises funds for ALS research.
She plans to reach her goal in a race in Alaska next May.
