There’s ‘no certainty’ from the Queensland government on the state’s reopening

Interior Minister Karen Andrews has locked out Queenslanders who are stuck in some states, saying it is a “terrifying” situation in Queensland with severe border closures.

“I have urged the Prime Minister to do everything possible to reopen these borders in the country as soon as possible,” Ms. Andrews told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

“The very difficult thing for us is the lack of certainty. Therefore, the Queensland Labor Government has no promise of what their intentions are, and that is not enough.

“We have been locked out of our condition. It’s just a horrifying series of situations.

“The Queensland Prime Minister needs to make sure he is on the road to reopening the Queensland border.”

Ms. Andrews said that if Ms. Parasekuk did not give a “clear direction” for the reopening of the state, she would “endanger another vacation period as airlines would not have enough time to lock in to the required flights. “I have expressed concern.
