Pacific Motorway traffic crawls after two separate incidents

Traffic has increased both north and south along the Pacific Highway south of Brisbane after two separate incidents occurred this afternoon: a collision of two vehicles and a car fire.

Two incidents caused traffic to crawl 27km in both directions from Carindale to Shiler Park.

A car fire broke out in the southbound lane of the Pacific Motorway near Underwood Road.

According to a Queensland fire department spokesman, the car was thought to be running on a tow truck, but was removed by paramedics and extinguished.

In another case, multiple vehicles collided on a northbound ramp at 12:38 pm.

One patient was taken to the stables at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Police advise commuters to avoid the area.
