Hyundai’s has spent billions of dollars on new car models. And the first of its new high-tech cars is heading to Australia.

The Universal Island can slide 140mm back and forth, allowing the rear person to access the wireless charging pad and create a walkthrough between the two front seats.
The driver-focused cabin includes a digital instrument cluster that can be adjusted with virtually “fixed” images and notes in a customizable section along with information such as vehicle speed.

The least powerful single-motor model with a small 58kWh battery produces 125kW and 350Nm and takes 8.5 seconds for the same 0-100km / h sprint.
The price hasn’t been decided yet, but it’s higher than a comparable petrol car and will probably approach $ 70,000. Today, it is expected to focus on running costs and life cycle costs as a temptation for EV beginners.
At that price, the Ioniq 5 is below Australia’s best-selling electric car, the Tesla Model 3. This starts at about $ 72,000 by car.
Production of the Ioniq 5 will begin in March, and Hyundai plans to sell 70,000 units for the rest of 2021.
