France and Greece announce new defence deal

France’s President Emmanuel Macron has said that European countries must be respected since AUKUS was announced and Australia’s $ 90 billion submarine deal with France was abandoned.

He also argued that Europe must cease to be naive and show its ability and power to protect itself.

That’s because France and Greece have announced a joint defense pact worth $ 4.8 billion.

Through the partnership, Athens will purchase three French warships built by Naval Group, the same company that undertook the construction of Australian submarines.

These vessels will be used by Greece as part of a strategy to strengthen defense capabilities in the eastern Mediterranean.
