Professor Brett Sutton, Victorian Chief Health Officer, praised the “great achievements” of the Victorian people after the state vaccinated one million times over a five-week period.
“Reaching the 1 million mark before that five-week milestone is just a great achievement,” said Professor Sutton.
“Having so many vaccines in Victoria is an absolute feat.
“All vaccines are another brick of the defense against coronavirus and another step on the road to greater freedom that we all seek.”
He said “remarkable” vaccinations are taking place in major parts of the state, such as the city of Melbourne, which saw an increase of 38% in two weeks.
