Belmont High School was closed on Thursday and the principal confirmed that there was an incident.
Principal Sandra Egrezos said the school will be closed on Thursday for cleaning and to identify staff or students who may have been in close contact with the incident.
North Geelong Secondary College was also closed on Thursday for Covid-19.
Victoria reported 2297 new locally acquired Covid cases on Thursday.
This showed the maximum number of new cases recorded per day by the state or territory since the onset of the pandemic.
The Health Department has also published the following Tier 1 exposure sites for the Geelong region:

Those who join the Tier 1 site within the stated time frame should be tested immediately and quarantined from exposure for 14 days.
