Coastguard Rescue Climbers Stuck on 200-Foot Sea Stack

The HM Coastguard rescued two climbers from a 200-foot-high Old Man of Stoer stack in Sutherland, Scotland, on Thursday evening, September 23. The man said in a statement that the Coast Guard said in a statement the harsh weather conditions that high waves “smash the stack and the tide comes in.” Captain Wilmacloud said it was a “potentially life-threatening situation for everyone involved” but they were able to bring the man back to dry ground safely and without injury. The Maritime and Coastguard Agency has released this video showing the crew pulling climbers up to a helicopter to ensure their safety.Credit: Maritime and Coastguard Agency via Storyful
