Hair transplant post-op care instructions for HRBR patients, post hair transplant surgery timeline (as of March 2019).

– [Announcer] The days and weeks following your transplant procedure are critically important and it’s vital to follow all the post operative instructions to ensure a successful outcome. Immediately after your transplant, you will need to start spraying your hair. You will need to spray the transplanted area and the stitches in the donor area every 20 minutes for the first 12 hours. A small spray, and a bottle of saline solution will be provided upon discharge from the clinic. Before you spray, put some towels and an Inco sheet around your shoulders and let all the water drip down. You will need to spray vigorously. When spraying, keep the bottle approximately two to three inches from your head. Pass the spray between both hands to ensure you fully soak both the transplanted and the donor areas. Use your left hand to spray your left side, and the right hand to spray the right. Once the saline solution has been used up, you may use ordinary tap water. You may ask a family member or friend to spray for you if it’s more convenient. Once you have completed the twelve hours of spraying, you should sleep for a few hours. For the next three days, you will need to spray the area half hourly during your waking hours. But, you can sleep as normal at night. It is essential for the survival of the transplanted grafts that they be kept well hydrated throughout this period. Spraying also prevents any scab formation on the transplanted and donor areas. During these three days, immediately post-op, do not touch the transplanted hair. If you need to comb your hair, only do so if it’s soaking wet. Gently skim the comb over your hair. Do not press the comb down onto your scalp. On day four, you will commence a tea tree shampoo regime. Fill a clean bowl with tepid water, and add a dollop of tea tree shampoo. Mix it well with the water until it is good and soapy. Use a cup or a jug to pour the solution carefully over the transplanted and the donor areas. Do not rub the transplanted area. Pat down gently on the grafts. Wash the suture line gently, using a circular motion. Ensure all the suds are rinsed off using ordinary clean water. We recommend that you allow your hair to dry naturally. If necessary, you may pat it dry gently with a clean towel. This regime should be carried out once per day, from day 4 to day 14. It’s important to remember that swelling can occur after three days. If it does, it may take up to three days to resolve. During the initial 14 days post-op please do not wear a hat, do not use a power shower, do not use any hair products, and do not use a hair dryer. It’s also vitally important to avoid heavy lifting or strenuous exercise for the next four weeks. In the case of emergency, when the clinic is closed, your surgeon’s number will be provided and highlighted in the written post-op instructions. Your stitches will be removed 7-10 days after the procedure. For FUE procedures, follow all the same post-op instructions. However, you may return to exercise after 14 days. For eyebrow transplants, follow all the same instructions, but be sure to use a towel to protect your eyes while spraying. Throughout this period, wash your hands regularly. Before spraying, and before applying the tea tree shampoo, use the alcohol hand gel provided. One of the biggest myths in the hair-transplant industry is that “with just one procedure a full and complete result can be achieved”. That’s only true if you haven’t yet lost much hair, but if you’re close to being completely bald on the top of your head like I was when I had my first hair-transplant then you will need at least two procedures with ANY surgeon to have a “full” looking result. Only so much tissue and hair can be moved in one procedure.

One of the problems with FUE is that it damages much of your potential donor area when you have a large FUE procedure. With FUT though you can have multiple FUT surgeries, and then even have FUE surgeries as well in the future if you’re in need of touch up work, or need to fill in any other areas.

This was my third FUT procedure, and other than some minor touch-up work will probably be the last surgery that I have for a while.

Yesterday was Thanksgiving, and I want to talk about all that I’m grateful for as a transgender woman to have the opportunity to undergo gender reassignment surgery. I don’t usually speak about my personal life, but I wanted  to share this unique experience with you. Enjoy!

I usually don’t do this, but I wanted to make this episode a little bit more personal for Thanksgiving. Yesterday, I had the chance to celebrate with my family how grateful I am for all the wonderful changes not only in my own life, but also for the LGBT community as a whole. It’s been a long journey for me, understanding my own growth and journey as a transgender woman and a human being on planet earth. This subject is very personal for me, because it has to do with a body part I have spent a lifetime trying to understand my relationship with: my penis.
Every transgender woman has a different relationship with her penis, some transgender women experience what’s called “Gender Dysphoria,” which means that they don’t feel aligned with their body or genitals. For as long as I can remember, I’ve experienced gender dysphoria and spent a lifetime hating my penis. It hasn’t been until this last year waiting for my surgery where I’ve finally learned to love the body part that I was born with.
Does that mean that I’ll cancel my surgery? No it doesn’t, because I think it’s important for me to learn to love that part of my body just as I’m about to change it into something else. It’s important because my penis will be giving me a great gift, it will be giving me the vagina I’ve longed for my entire life. I celebrate the gift I am about to receive, because it will be something that I’ve worked very hard for.
On December 23rd 2015 I will be undergoing Gender Reassignment Surgery with Dr. Meltzer.

Als Ursache sind genetische Erbanlagen und Hormone verantwortlich zu machen. Eine Fettabsaugung bietet sich als die Lösung für eine makellose Figur an, denn sie entfernt Fettzellen dauerhaft. Wir bevorzugen die Fettabsaugung mittels Tumeszenz. Diese Technik entspricht der klassischen Vorgehensweise, bei der zuerst ein relativ großes Flüssigkeits-Volumen infiltriert wird, um das Fettgewebe aus dem Bindegewebe herauszulösen. In einem zweiten Schritt erfolgt dann die eigentliche Fettabsaugung. Die Fettabsaugung eröffnet die Möglichkeit, den Körper zu formen. Einzelne oder mehrere hartnäckige Fettpolster, die auf keine Diät und kein Fitnesstraining ansprechen, und die häufig bereits über Generationen in der Familie weitergereicht wurden (wie zum Beispiel eine Veranlagung zum Doppelkinden) könichnen ausdoppelkinnge. Die Liposuction ist inzwischen zum beliebtesten ästhetisch -irurgischen Eingriff mit jährlich ca. 250,000 Eingriffen in Deutschland geworden. Tumeszenz-Liposuction Bei dieser modernen Form der Fettabsaugung wird zunächst mit einer elektrischen Pumpe durch dünne, in das Fettgewebe platzierte Kanülen eine große Menge einer hochverdünnten Lokalanästhesielöptsung (Tumeszasenzlösung) in dünne. Diese Flüssigkeit enthält örtliche Betäubungsmittel, Mittel zur Hemmung der Blutung, Mittel zur Verminderung einer Entzündung und Mittel zur Stabilisierung des pH-Werts. Diese Lösung führt zu einer Aufquellung der Fettzellen, die dann anschließend nach einer ca. halbstündigen Einwirkungszeit leicht abgesaugt werden können. Das Fettabsaugen erfolgt durch eine 2-4 mm dicke lange Metallkanüle, unter deren abgerundeter Spitze sich eine seitliche Öffnung befindet. Die Kanüle wird mittels einer elektrischen Rüttelapparatur, ähnlich wie mit einem Schlagbohrer, schnell vor und zurück bewegt, wodurch eine schonende Ablösung der Fettzellen möglich ist, die über eine starke Saugtumpperdene abaugges. Eine Verletzung von Haut, Nerven und Blutgefäßen ist mit der schonenden Rüttel-Absaugmethode praktisch ausgeschlossen. Die Absaugung erfolgt gleichmäßig unter manueller Kontrolle bis zum erwünschten Effekt. Nach Absaugung der aufgelösten Fettzellen bleibt ein Netzwerk von Bindegewebszügen übrig, die durch die anschließend angelegte Kompressionskleidung miteinander verkleben und eine stabile Schicht bilden. Da die Fettzellen sich bei Erwachsenen nicht mehr teilen, ist die Entfernung endgültig. Das Fettgewebe kann somit nicht mehr nachwachsen. Die Methode ist auch geeignet zur Entfernung krankhafter Fettgeschwülste (Lipoma) und zur Behandlung übermäßigen Schwitzens in der Achselhöhle (Hyperhidrosis). .
