“He is a very beloved and acclaimed person and, above all, is deeply impressed by the number of other people in the world who share our loss and sorrow.

“My beloved dad was a very special person. Above all, I was surprised at the reaction and excitement about him.”

The Duke’s casket is now resting in a small private chapel of the Queen of Windsor Castle, covered with flags and flowers.

Prince Phillip died peacefully at Windsor Castle on Friday, April 9, 2021. He was 99 years old.
