A third woman has alleged she was sexually assaulted by former Liberal staffer

A third woman claimed to have been sexually assaulted by the same political staff accused of raping a colleague in the Capitol.

The woman says she was assaulted while working as a coalition volunteer during the 2016 campaign.

She was barely absent from school at the time of the alleged attack that occurred after spending the night with political staff at the time.

A second woman came out earlier on the weekend.

The allegations arise when Brittany Higgins, who allegedly was raped in a parliamentary office in 2019, is preparing to issue a statement to the Australian Federal Police.

Ms. Higgins was hired by Defense Minister Linda Reynolds on suspicion of assault.

Senator Reynolds and Prime Minister Scott Morrison are expected to face more questions about when they learned of the complaint and what they did to help Ms. Higgins when Congress reopened on Monday. ..

Rape has triggered several investigations into the work culture of the Capitol and the coalition government.

Labor Rep. Joel Fitzgibbon said cultural issues should be solved by men, not women.

“Men need to understand that when they do these things, the full power of the law falls upon them,” he told Network Seven.
