2020 was a year of crackers for Australian podcasts, so we’ve put together some of the best to enjoy listening.

Nut job

Mark Fennel did his really spectacular follow-up It burns With more food-related plots.This time he weaves the world of robbery and nuts together and delves into the depths of US agricultural crime.

But perhaps more importantly, podcasts are looking at the status of these crimes, how marketing is shaping billion-dollar food trends, and the impact of climate change on our diet. That is.

I’ve acknowledged. This is my favorite podcast of the year.

Being with Fennell, he also casually dropped his latest project, What the British stole.. At the time of this writing, only the first few episodes are down, but it’s already above the podcast chart.

This incredible series sees the true and often brutal history and context of cute objects behind the glass.

Throughout its reign, the British Empire stole many things. Today, these objects are housed in graceful institutions in the UK and around the world. They usually come with polite plaque. This is a series about the less polite history behind those objects.

Enthusiasm is history

Fans of All Aussie Mystery Hour will be happy with this. Mel and Josie have launched a whole new pod about strange and wonderful stories from Australian history.

As always, what’s great about this is the warmth and humor they bring to the subject. It’s like sitting down and listening to a fellow chat.

This amazing pod from CNET’s Claire Riley is perfect for space geeks who want to hear lesser-known stories about women in space.

Creating the Universe: The Women Frontier spotlights the history of space exploration and the women who made it possible. From the hidden women of the Apollo program and the women who were barred from astronaut training in the 1960s to the new generation of NASA leaders who bring us back to the Moon and Mars. Creating space sheds light on women who are often overlooked in the history of mankind’s greatest achievements.

Josie and Podcats

Despite being a box office bomb Josie and Pussy Cats It was a huge cult phenomenon in the early 200s.

Journalist and writer Maria Lewis will explore the film with Blake Howard, interview the cast and crew, and travel to the creator’s Archie Comics home.

This series walks completely around the line between fandom and serious journalism. That’s what I like very much. Part of pop culture that remains human and accessible and is treated with worthy and serious respect.

Considering the resurrection of the larger Archie universe Riverdale And Sabrina’s chilling adventure, I couldn’t have more time to dig deeper into this really great movie.

Find Desperado

Any fan of movies or strange mysteries should get on this right away. I don’t want to say too much because it’s worth the trip in good condition.

But this is the perfect combination of conspiracy and comedy and is one of my favorites this year.

Finding Desperado is a brand new research mystery podcast sponsored by comedians Alexei Toliopoulos and Cameron James. The team behind Finding Drago, the hottest podcast of 2019. Australia’s best (and only) pop culture detectives Alexei and Cameron have discovered a strange Guinness World Record since 2005. A record held by an elusive European aristocrat. Records that they believe to be fake.

Thin black line

One for true crime lovers, especially those who listen Bowla Building And Unravel. If not, we strongly recommend that you do so. This is an important education in the killing and detention of Aboriginal people.

Depending on who you ask, the infamous 1993 death of Aboriginal teenager Daniel Yock in custody is either a tragic incident or an unfinished business.

A spring afternoon at Musgrave Park in Brisbane, an 18-year-old traditional dancer and amateur boxer drinks with friends.
